Let’s Talk About Couples Boudoir (And What I Do and Don’t Photograph)
I get asked this one a lot, so let’s just put it all out there (pun intended 😉).
When couples reach out about a boudoir session, sometimes the first question I get from the guys is, “Can I be naked?”
And the short answer is, not like that.
Here’s the thing: I’m not shy, and I’m definitely not a prude. I’ve photographed women in the nude before, but always in a way that’s artful, implied, and sensual rather than explicit. Think shadows, curves, connection, not anatomy.
What I don’t shoot are sexual acts or frontal nudity for anyone. Not because I’m uncomfortable, but because that’s not what I create. My work is about capturing chemistry, confidence, and the story between two people, not the physical act of sex itself.
There’s a huge difference between sexy and sexual.
Sexy is that moment when your partner pulls you close and your laughter melts into a kiss. Sexy is fingertips on skin, a knowing glance, or the warmth of a backlight on your silhouette. Sexy tells a story, and that’s what I photograph.
If you’re envisioning your couples boudoir session, imagine it as a celebration of intimacy, connection, and trust. It’s not pornography, it’s art. My approach keeps it that way: elegant, empowering, and something you’ll actually want to look back on years from now without feeling uncomfortable.

One quick note: while I’ve photographed couples boudoir before, none of those sessions have included a model release, which means I can’t share those images publicly. I completely understand that these sessions are deeply personal, but I would love to have one couple who feels comfortable signing a release so I can show what this type of session truly looks like.
